We always caution consumers to be wary of Level 1 and Level 2 pricing. So these are nearly always poorly made units that will likely have issues 8 to 12 years down the road.

Vinyl Windows Prices Level 3

This is the first price point where consumers can begin to see some value begin to creep into the type of vinyl windows that they buy. This is still not the price point that I'd like most consumers to settle on, but for budget projects, it's probably okay.

-- Fully Installed Cost: $450 to $550 --

Wincore 7700 Series

Level 4 Pricing

Level 4 pricing is the average cost of a mid range vinyl window fully installed. This is what the normal homeowner can expect to pay for a good mid range vinyl window like a Simonton or a ProVia in a normal size opening.

-- Fully Installed Cost: $550 to $650 --

Vinyl Windows Pricing Level 5

Level 5 pricing can provide some of the best value for consumers - find a recommended manufacturer and go with their mid range window (unless you can get windows at this price point for the premium series).

-- Fully Installed Cost: $650 to $750 --

Examples At This Price Point

Vinyl Windows Pricing Level 8

Level 8 and 9 vinyl windows pricing will be for a premium vinyl window with some add ons or additional features such as grids, screens, upgrade hardware etc. It also might encompass a larger sized opening or some pretty extensive repair and installation work.

-- Fully Installed Cost: $950 to $1050 --

Examples At This Price Point

Level 9 Pricing

Level 8 and 9 pricing will be for a premium vinyl window with some add ons or additional features such as grids, screens, upgrade hardware etc. It also might encompass a larger sized opening or some pretty extensive repair and installation work.

Level 10 Pricing

Level 10 pricing should be reserved for very large openings with new construction installation from the very best manufacturers. Paying this per window cost for your vinyl windows is steep, but certainly not unheard of. Additionally, consumers facing these high price points should consider collecting 4 to 5 bids in order to make sure that the bids are market value.

Vinyl Windows Pricing Q and A

Got questions on vinyl windows pricing and quotes ? We’ve got answers. Below you’ll find consumer questions on prices, quotes, brands, comparisons, and much more

ProVia vs Zen Windows

John, how do you feel about comparing the attributes of the super spacer vs intercept stainless spacer. Everything I have read says the foam super spacer is superior for condensation, keeping the window warmer around the edges, helping with sound reduction. What do you recommend? I just got back 2 quotes from the Zen Windows of Cleveland and both pricing is very reasonable, Provia Endure is about 24k and has the Super Spacer and Soft Lite Imperial Elite costs about the same but uses the Intercept Stainless Spacer.

So the pricing is no issue. But then it comes down to which has better frame reinforcement, weatherstripping and the spacer used. The seller recommends Provia Windows. I was hoping to get the Elements series from Soft Lite but he doesn't offer that. Do you know any installer in Cleveland area that installs Elements windows? If I never researched any of this stuff, I would go with the lower price, but because there may be real differences in the construction that affects the durability, this is why I have so many questions.

Website Editor's Answer

Mark, I do like the super spacer, but honestly I just don’t think that’s going to make an appreciably difference. Soft-Lite Windows and ProVia are both very good manufacturers - just make sure you get their best install team - I often say that I’m flexible on date, but I have to insist on their best team (if they have multiple). Mark, the ProVia Endure is such a great window. Good on you for all of your diligence during this process, it's a pain in the @ss, but now you (hopefully) won't have to deal with it for a long long time!
