Bay Windows Cost

What do bay windows cost? Let's zoom in on this beautiful window structure and explore what you can expect to pay. As a general rule of thumb, consumers can expect bay windows to run $1500 to $6000 all in. This will include the cost of the windows themselves, the bay box (all of the wood surround), and the bay window installation cost. Again, as a general rule of thumb, the material costs will account for 2/3 of the project cost, while the installation will account for the remaining 1/3. Scroll down and let's get to work.

Window Nation Replacement Options

Hi Bill, I’m not sure if you still do this, but I recently just got pushed into buying 5 new windows from Window Nation, for about $8,000. I was curious if I could have done better, if it is a huge overpay, if I should or can back out of the contract. They also bid out an 12 foot wide bay window replacement that ended up at $5800. Seems expensive, what do you think?

Website Editor's Answer

Steven, Alex, as a general rule of thumb, paying over $1K for a window is probably too much, although companies these days are often bidding them out that way. My advise is to collect a few more local window price quotes and just see where the others land. This is the only surefire way to know whether you are overpaying or not. The bay windows cost quote is pretty high as well, which just confirms my original advice of more bids. When you get them, send them over to me and I'd love to take a look and give you my two cents.
