General Window Bid Question

Just received a quote for siding, replacement windows and new entry door. Question why can't I have a quote for the windows alone. Instead of the whole package? The Rep said no, because I am having multiple projects done simultaneously . Can you help with this?

Website Editor's Answer

Brenda, I'd move on to the next company or bid. There is no reason why you can't have a single company do the windows of your home. Sometimes it gets tricky when you are working with a general contractor, but there should be no reason why you can't do the windows as a standalone project. Simply keep getting bids until you find a company that will give you a good window at a good price and is willing to just tackle windows.

Soft-Lite Imperial LS vs. Revere Berkshire Elite

Andy
May 19, 2016
I've narrowed down my search for 8 casement windows.

Either the Revere Berkshire Elite (BarrierXP glass): Window Costs: $3980

Or the Soft-Lite Imperial LS (SB60 Glass): Window Costs $3980

Andy, the Soft-Lite Imperial LS window is by far the better made of these two windows. Assuming the installation is equal in quality, I wouldn't hesitate to go with the Soft-Lite option.
