Crystal Windows Reviews
Crystal Window And Door Systems is a New York manufacturer that makes both vinyl and aluminum windows and doors. The company has four window/door factories - one in each of the following states: California, Illinois, Missouri, and Pennsylvania.
FYI, in California, the company calls themselves Crystal Pacific and it even has its own website with the unique branding. Truthfully, I find it a bit confusing. At any rate, CWDS has a presence in both the residential and the commercial sectors. Check out our Crystal Windows reviews posted at the bottom of this page.

Crystal Windows And Doors Products
Crystal Window Series - Crystal offers 3 separate series - the 300, 200 and 100. Easy enough, right? (Some companies are incredibly confusing in terms of what they sell, so I appreciate this approach.) The 300 is their premium, the 200 is their middle of the road, and the 100 is their entry level. Each of these can be ordered as a casement, double-hung, picture, or as a horizontal slider. As well, each of these series can be ordered as either a new construction or as a replacement.
Specialty Series - They also sell a bit of a specialty series called the Magnus. This is a vinyl window to be used for a passive house, which can mean quite bulky, but VERY energy efficient. I don't hear much about this series if I'm being honest.
Crystal Door Series - CWDS sell entry and sliding patio doors in vinyl, aluminum or in the Magnus series/
Are Crystal Windows Any Good - For the most part, CWDS makes a close-to-builder grade product. I think there are better brands out there. While I'm not sure I would put the company in my list of the worst window brands, they also wouldn't be that far off.
Crystal Windows vs Andersen vs ProVia
We are renovating our small basement and our GC pushed us on crystal windows. We initially said yes, trusting his judgement, but I’m a bit dismayed when I read the reviews on these. Should I tell him to stop the order if possible and go with a better brands like Andersen or ProVia?

Website Editor's Answer
Yes, I would. First ask him to check if the order can be halted without any sort of cost. Then ask him to see what he has access to. ProVia Windows would be my choice, along with Okna, Soft-Lite and Polaris. If you are married to the look of wood, upgrade to the interior wood laminates that do a good ob to mimic the look of a true wood interior.

Crystal Windows Reviews
Recently got a bid from Crystal Windows on their 200 series. They were affordable, but they looked cheap to me. What say you?

Website Editor's Answer
Silvia, they tend to be a pretty cheap brand. I might put them on par with Silverline. I think I would move on the something nicer and a bit more expensive - you will recoup the savings and then some. More on Silverline Windows Reviews here.
