Ply Gem Windows And Doors Ply Gem is a relatively large home product manufacturer (siding, windows, etc.) that is based in Cary, North Carolina. The company manufacturers a series of vinyl windows&doors that are sold to builders and contractors, as well as distributed through local dealers and in the big box stores like Home Depot.

In general, Ply Gem has a so-so to pretty good reputation in the industry. I like the Ply Pem Premium and Pro series and would stick with these for replacement or new construction. I might recommend Ply Gem for those homeowners who have limited access to real top tier brands, but still require a quality window/door. While not the best brand, Ply Gem is certainly nowhere near one of the worst window brands on the market.

Milgard Windows And Doors Milgard is a medium sized manufacturer with nine factories located across the western half of the United States. The company manufactures a number of vinyl, aluminum, and wood clad windows and doors. In general, Milgard has a decent to pretty good reputation within the fenestration industry. Their higher end products are nice, while their low end windows&doors leave something to be desired.
