Soft-Lite Classic Windows Reviews
The Soft-Lite Classic window was the original Soft-Lite window from their earlier days and is actually quite similar to the Soft-Lite Pro model. When the company came out with the Imperial LS and Elements Series, they had originally intended to drop the Classic. However, lots of dealers liked how the Classic looked (as did many customers), so they have kept it in their line up.
The Classic window series includes several nice upgrades from the Bainbridge Series, including upgraded screens, sash and frame fills, and includes a lifetime glass breakage provision. Standard features include fusion welded frames, Delta locks, vent locks, an intercept spacer, locking screen latch, and a drip cap.
The Classic is very similar to the Soft-Lite Pro Series, but here are the differences between the two; the Classic uses an Intercept spacer, has a non-reinforced meeting rail, single strength glass and uses a 3/4" IGU. The Pro uses a Super Spacer, has a reinforced meeting rail, double strength glass and uses a 7/8"IGU. The Classic is a small below the Pro in terms of overall strength, performance and durability.

Soft-Lite Classic Windows Ratings
The Soft-Lite Classic window double hung will achieve a performance rating of approximately .30 U factor, .09 AI, .29 SHGC and a .37 VT and has a DP35 rating.
An upgrade to the Ultra window glass package will deliver better performance numbers and should achieve a .25 U factor, .07 AI, .24 SHGC and a .33 VT. All of these numbers come from the NFRC or national fenestration rating council website, which provides performance ratings and numbers for thousands of window series and models.
Soft-Lite Classic Window Warranty
The Soft-Lite Classic windows warranty is nearly identical to the warranty offered on their other vinyl window models. Consumers can expect a limited lifetime warranty on the vinyl mainframe and sash for the lifetime of the owner. There is a 10 year provision on all interior mini blinds, foil laminate and any PVC coatings.
This warranty carries a one time transfer provision, which allows a subsequent owner to receive the same lifetime warranty, although they must pay a transfer fee and notify the company in writing. It does include a lifetime glass breakage provision. As with all vinyl window warranties, there are a number of limitations and exclusions that do apply so make sure to read the warranty in full prior to purchase.
