Lincoln Windows Cost

Lincoln Windows is based in Merrill, Wisconsin and the company has been in the window and door industry since the mid 1940s. Until around 1995, Lincoln was strictly wood clad window and door manufacturer. It was at this time that Lincoln entered the vinyl window market using the name of Timeline Vinyl Products. In 2015, TVP ceased operations. Lincoln Windows, however, continues to sell their wood clad windows. Check out our Lincoln Windows cost quotes posted at the bottom of this page.

Lincoln has had a bit of a checkered past with their wood clad windows (as most wood window manufacturers have). Back in 2016 there was a Lincoln Windows class action lawsuit filed by Segui Law Firm and The Chakeris Law firm on behalf of their clients who claimed that their Lincoln windows were defective and leaked, warped, and/or cracked. I believe the case was settled out of court and the details of the agreement were never made public (I believe this is fairly typical in these situations).

Like most wood clad window manufacturers, Lincoln windows and doors tend to be quite expensive when compared with other window frame materials (vinyl, composite, fiberglass and aluminum). I would rate their windows a 7 or 8 out of 10 when compare with all other manufacturers in the space.

I give Lincoln Windows a 4.0 out of 5 star rating based on 1 consumer review posted at the bottom of the page.

Lincoln Windows Warranty

Lincoln provides a 10 year warranty against defective workmanship for the mainframe and sash. The insulated glass unit carries a 20 year warranty. This is pretty weak, even when compare to other wood window manufacturers (the industry standard for wood window warranties is a 20 year time period). There is a reason that companies such as Lincoln provide such a limited warranty - they worry that the products will not last longer than this. To be fair, wood windows and doors require maintenance, so without this they will begin to break down at about this time.

The company price point will be roughly 7 to 8 out of 10 when compared with other wood window manufacturers. Guesstimating pricing is always tricky business due to the fact that there are 20 or so factors that determine price. In addition, local window companies are allowed to quote project bids as they see fit.

This is why we always tell homeowners to collect 4 to 5 competitive bids from high end local companies.

HOA And Wood Windows

Love to get your advice on the following - and thanks in advance for your help. While I really don't want wood windows my HOA is demanding that we keep wood when replacing. Seems unfair, but there it is. We started with a bid from Marvin Windows on the Ultimate Series, but the price tag was $2000 each. Same with the Andersen 400 series, which I did like. Our final bid was from Lincoln on an insert revitalized series at $1600. What's the best bang for my buck would you say?

Website Editor's Answer

Caroline, I think I like either the Marvin Ultimate or the Andersen 400 window series over the Lincoln window option. Not to take anything away from those guys, but the quality of the Marvin vs Andersen brands is the better call. While I like what the Lincoln windows cost, it's also on the insert, which ought to be the less expensive series. Toss up between these two - I would do a deep dive into the companies doing the actual install as the deciding factor.
