Vista Panorama Windows Reviews

The Vista Panorama window is the principal vinyl window line from this Ohio based company and is available as a slider, double hung, picture, casement, casement bow, bay and as a patio door. The Panorama uses a super spacer and deliver okay, but not great performance numbers. It can be ordered in a number of solid interior colors, as well as interior woodgrains, including cherry, dark oak, cavalier oak, pecan and light oak. The window can also be ordered in 16 exterior frame colors, as well as a number of glass packages.

The Panorama double hung window comes standard with the following features; an insulated glazing system, a composite lock, a 5 degree sloped sill, low-profile tilt-latches, triple-fin weatherstripping, unique balance covers, tilt in sashes, an extruded screen, an interlocking meeting rail, and a constant force balance system.

There are some nice features here and the U-factor, VT and CR numbers are impressive on this unit. The air infiltration number was way higher than we'd like to see however. (see our window ratings section below for more info.) The Vista Panorama window is often bid out close to the Soft-Lite Elements or the Sunrise Restorations window, both of which I consider to be better windows. I feel like the Panorama is close to being a great vinyl window, but just misses the mark, mainly because of the high AI number. A VERY solid mid range vinyl window in my opinion.

Vista Panorama Windows Ratings

According to the nfrc.org, the Vista Panorama offers the following performance numbers given a low-e glass and argon fills; U-value of .29, .29 SHGC, .43 VT (visible transmittance), 57 CR (condensation resistance), and .20 air infiltration. These numbers are decent, with the exception of the AI, which is too high to consider this a top tier window.

An upgrade to a better glass package will lower these numbers to .23 U-value, .16 SHGC, .23 VT, and 67 CR. This upgrade should lower this AI, maybe in the .15 range, still high for a top tier window.

Vista Panorama Window Warranty

The Vista Panorama warranty comes with a lifetime provision on the vinyl frame, sash, all working parts, insulated glass unit, glass coatings, woodgrain laminated surfaces, exterior paint, and any applicable glass breakage provision. The warranty is transferrable to a second owner, although the warranty is then good for 25 years from the date of purchase. The transfer requires that the Vista transfer card is filled out and mailed to the company to notify them of the change.

Consumers who want to make a claim must go through the dealer or local company that installed the windows. All in all, good warranty terms. I haven't heard much about how the company handles their warranty claims so I can't speak to whether they are good or bad in this regard.
