Ply Gem Premium Windows Reviews
Home » Ply Gem Windows Costs » Premium Series
The Ply Gem premium window is the top-of-the-line offering from this building and supply mega company. The Ply Gem Premium Series is an updated version of the Great Lakes Grandview 5000 Series. This premium model is a decent vinyl window, probably on par with top vinyl window manufacturers mid range model. Examples might include the mid range series from Milgard, soft light, and Sunrise.
Standard features on the premium Ply Gem window include a sloped sill, an integral interlock on the meeting rails, triple weatherstripping, a fiberglass reinforced meeting rail, two cam action locks, equal sightlines, a foam filled frame, and extruded aluminum half screen, and a constant force balancing system.
The Premium comes in more color and finish options and is available in a number of different window styles and options. The window can be ordered in one of 11 exterior colors, as well as five interior colors that include three wood laminate options. While the energy efficiency performance of the Premium Series will be comparable to the Pro, the Premium does offer a DP50, making it a sturdier version of the Ply Gem Pro window.

Ply Gem Premium Windows Ratings
In terms of ratings, the Ply Gem premium window with the standard low e glass will deliver a U factor of .39, the upgraded HP 2+ class package will delivery U factor of .27, and the HP to Max class package will deliver a U factor of .25. The HP three Max class package, which has an insulation are five value, will deliver a .22 U-factor.
For a "premium" window, these numbers are not that impressive, they are nearly identical to the Contractor model. The window does have a Design Pressure of 50, which indicates that the window is going to be much sturdier than the contractor. I would like to find the air infiltration numbers - when I do, I'll post them here.
