The Jeld Wen Premium Atlantic window uses an extruded aluminum alloy that uses a more narrow frame than vinyl or fiberglass due to the incredible strength of the aluminum. This also provides more viewing and glass area for homeowners. This does come at the expense of performance numbers that homeowners should definitely understand before purchasing these aluminum windows.
Jeld Wen's Premium Atlantic Series, also known as the A500, can be ordered as a casement, single hung, radius or geometric shapes, sliding doors, awnings or as a picture window. There are three different frame options that include a nail fin frame, block frame and flush fin frame.
The Premium Atlantic can be ordered in any of seven exterior colors, as well as two standard interior colors or two upgraded anodized colors. Standard features include a 2 1/2 inch frame, foam compressed gaskets, a nesting handle, low-e insulated glass, a multi point locking system and an aluminum framed insert screen.

The Jeld Wen Premium Atlantic Aluminum Series is a DP 50 rated window. The Premium Atlantic with a low-e glass, argon fills, and no grids will deliver a .55 U-factor, .24 SHGC and .36 VT (these numbers came from the nrfc website).
As you can see, the U-factor is much higher than most vinyl windows that we review. Most aluminum windows simply cannot match the performance and energy efficiency that you will find with a vinyl or fiberglass window.
The Jeld Wen Premium Atlantic Series comes with a 10 year warranty for the original homeowner. It cover covers labor costs for one year after the purchase date and is not transferable to any subsequent owners. It does include a glass breakage provision for a single year. The Kynar clad finish is covered for 20 years from the date of purchase.
