Power HRG Reviews

Explore our Power HRG Reviews and find out what homeowners and consumers have to say about the company's replacement windows and installation services. Established in 1995, Power HRG offers a range of services including replacement windows, vinyl siding, replacement doors and replacement roofs. The company sells Northeast Building Products windows - a middling vinyl replacement window as far as I’m concerned. Like most window companies, they offer single hungs, double-hungs, casements, sliders, garden windows, bow and bay windows, as well as sliding patio doors.

Power HRG operated in the following cities: Atlanta, Boston, Austin, Phoenix, Nashville, Pittsburgh, Long Island, Houston, Detroit, Chicago, Denver, Charlotte, and Dallas. They offer home remodeling in the following states: Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland.

Ratings And Reviews - PowerHRG Windows And Doors gets a 3.9 out of 5 star rating based on 5 homeowner reviews located toward the bottom of this page.

Bottom Line - I'm sorta 50/50 on this company. The window they use is good enough but the question remains of how well is the window installation crew. Do they just install windows or is this a sideline act along with all the rest of their services like roofing and interior remodeling.

PowerHRG Windows Cost

In terms of what PowerHRG Windows cost, I really don't have enough of a sense of the company to provide any sort of ballpark pricing. I'm going to need to see more homeowner price and project quotes before I can guesstimate what a fair market price is for these windows.

Northeast Building Products usually sells in the mid range of vinyl windows cost - so $650 to $850 installed. I might compare this to the Pella 250 series. Pella 250 Series Reviews

-- Installation: $150 to $400 per opening --

-- Price Point: 6 to 7.5 out of 10 --

Power Home Remodeling Warranty

PowerHRG offers a lifetime labor warranty on their windows and doors. This means that if a manufacturing defect occurs on the products themselves, then the company will handle the labor cost to either repair or replace the windows and/or doors. However, once the original buyer sells the house, then the labor portion of the warranty is null and void.

In terms of the windows product warranty, the company sells Northeast Building Products and the warranty comes from the company. This warranty applies to the original buyer and one subsequent owner. The original buyer is covered for lifetime from any manufacturing defects and the second owner is covered for 10 years from the date of purchase. Then the warranty is pro-rated so that from years 11 to 15, the second buyer is covered from 50% of the window cost, years 16 to 24 the buyer is only covered for 25%. After year 25, the 2nd buyer is covered for 10% of the cost.

All in all, just kind of an okay replacement windows warranty I would say. Most window companies understand that most people move within 8 to 10 years of living in a home so they are able to avoid having to fulfill many of their warranty obligations.

Power HRG Window Reviews

Hi Bill, I have been looking at replacement windows and am getting more confused by the minute. My husband and I are looking to replace 3 windows right now - 2 single hung vertical and one slider. We don't live in a salt air area in Texas - our home is in the Northwest section (Cypress area) of Houston. So we are looking for vinyl frames, with double pane, single hung windows. Additionally, we would like a good warranty on all parts of the window. Also, we're looking at Power Home Remodeling and thinking of getting a quote - does that make sense?

We DO want windows that will cut down the draftiness of these old windows and that will protect furniture and carpet. We've been quoted on Anlin Del Mar windows ($6100+ for 3) and Vistamark Endura Series ($4300+ for 3). Both quotes seem high for 3 windows. We were also quoted on MI and Alside but didn't feel comfortable with the contractor through Window Source.

Can you provide some good, solid recommendations for windows please? I do appreciate any guidance you can provide!!

Deb, I think you are on the right track so far. That Anlin windows bid is steep -- great window, but...not inexpensive. Power Home Remodeling uses the Northeast Building Products windows and doors. Not a bad option as well. So I would collect the bid for sure, but I would be very keen on collecting 3 to 4 more, which you are well on your way toward. Let's circle back on this when you have all of the bids collected.

Power Home Remodeling Windows vs Pella

So, my wife and I are in the process of collecting window quotes and we have gotten three of them so far. All the companies say they are the best and doing a more or less hard sell. I'm annoyed, my wife is amused for some reason. My question for you is this - how do PowerHRG and Pella Windows stack up to one another? The Pella people are selling the Symphony series, which is not listed on their website, so that's confusing. When I went and called them and asked for more information, they said to assume that it's the 250 series vinyl window. Why in the heck would I "assume" that?

Also, I did take a look at your power hrg reviews page, but would love to hear a little more about what you think of their services. Specifically, if anything has changed with them over the past two years since the last review was from 2023.

Website Editor's Answer

Paul, Power Home Remodeling is a company that installs windows, while Pella Windows is a brand that uses local window companies to sell and install their products. So there's obviously a big difference there. In terms of the windows, the Pella 250 series (which is comparable to the Symphony, more or less the same thing) matches up pretty well to some of NBP products, but they do sell a number of different options.

It's certainly important to know which window you are buying. The NBP options include the Camelot (specialty shapes), Pro (base vinyl window), Pro Plus (upgraded vinyl window), Crusader Elite (premium vinyl window), and the WindForce Series (hurricane window).

Personally, I would put the 250 series on par with their Pro Plus -- so let's first find out what you are comparing. After that, let's turn to the company who is going to do the install. Power Home Remodeling is a decent outfit, but might charge a bit more than I would like to see. Let's say they get a 7.5 out of 10.

What are the reviews like for the Pella installer? The windows are half of the total equation and the installer is the other half. So, to wrap up, I'd say let's figure out what window series we are actually comparing, then do a head to head analysis of the companies (using online reviews) and so a good old fashioned comparison.

Power HRG Reviews

We have been going through this grueling experiecne of replacement windows shopping. We have 28 windows including the install and I need this to be over. It's worse than buying a car.

Zen Soft-Lite Classic Plus: $25k
Window Universe Signature Elite: $27k
MI 1620: $28k
Anlin Panoramic: $29k
Anlin Catalina: $31k
Soft-Lite Imperial LS: $33k
Power Pella Symphony: $36k
Marvin Infinity: $68k

Any opinions on these?

Jennifer - Homeowner - October, 2023

Website Editor's Answer

Jennifer, the Marvin and Power bids are too expensive. I'd say your cheapest bid is probably the best value of the bunch. The Soft-Lite Classic window is very good. Those Anlin bids are pretty solid as well.
