Slocomb Window Reviews
Slocomb Windows are headquartered in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania and sell a number of different vinyl window lines, including the Slocomb 115, Harmony 143, Slocomb 144, Slocomb 1143, ProTech 177, and the Windblocker 477 window series. The company is part of Earthwise Windows And Doors, which is a group of independently owned window manufacturers who shared regional manufacturing facilities and marketing channels as a way to stay independent, while maintaining a standard of production quality.
While I would recommend the Windblocker 477 and possibly the ProTech 177, I think that's where I'd end it for this particular manufacturer. I think it's one thing to buy a top end vinyl window from a smaller company, but I would recommend going with an entry level or even mid range window from a lesser known company like Slocomb.
Pricewise, the Slocomb windows seem reasonable and I think depending on the price point, consumers can get some value in the two windows that I mentioned above.

Solcomb 677 how would you rate this window ?

Website Editor's Answer
Andy, the Slocomb 677 vinyl window is a very solid offering. I'm impressed with the overall construction, components, and features of the window. I wasn't able to see the air infiltration numbers, this for me would be the key to whether I moved forward or not (and I would love to see this number if the sales rep can give it to you, which he should be able to).
AI at .15 or higher is considered not good
AI at .10 or lower is considered good
AI at .05 or lower is considered great
Get the AI and the design pressure and you like the look, feel and sturdiness of the windows in your hands, I don't any reason not to buy the Slocomb 677 vinyl window.
