Ply Gem Windows Prices

Ply Gem windows prices will run $25 to $50 per square foot for the windows themselves. Ply Gem tends to be a bit of a mixed bag in terms of quality, mainly because the company has acquired a number of brands over the years, including Great Lakes and CertainTeed. On the one hand, many installers feel CertainTeed windows are a poorly made product. On the other hand, Great Lakes Windows is considered a quality manufacturer.

The company offers different product lines and models depending on the part of the country in which you reside. This can make it a bit confusing for the consumer. In general, the Pro and Ply Gem Premium window series are considered a decent mid range vinyl window option. Their Contractor and 1500 Collections series are more of builder grade window and don't offer the level of craftsmanship, features and performance that I would recommend for most consumers.

If you are on a tight budget, here are my picks for the best cheap vinyl windows on the market. (Incidentally, the Ply Gem Pro window made this list.)

Ply Gem Windows Warranty

Each Ply Gem product that the company carries has it's own warranty terms and limitations. In general, the warranty is pretty weak. Compare to the warranty offered by Sunrise windows. Here are the general Ply Gem window warranty for the Pro model; 10 years on workmanship and materials on the vinyl frame parts and sash, 20 years on the insulated glass unit and 2 years on the hardware. The warranty is not transferrable to another owner as far as we could tell.

As always, a number of limitations and exclusions that apply to the warranty, so always be sure to read the warranty in full before you buy.
