Indow Windows Prices

Explore Indow Windows prices and reviews on this Portland, Oregon based company that specializes in window inserts. Unlike traditional storm windows that use a vinyl, fiberglass or aluminum frame and glass, Indow has come up with several innovations that make their inserts more adaptable, especially with older window openings that may not be perfectly square or plumb.

Indow Windows Cost

Indow Window prices are going to run $20 to $30 per square foot for the insert itself. $20 is the suggested retail price for their normal insert, while most consumers will pay roughly $25 for their upgraded models, including the Acoustic, Shade, Privacy and Blackout models. The Museum and Commercial grade Indow inserts should run consumers close to $30 per square foot. The costs listed above do not include the windows installation cost or measuring that the local dealer will charge. We currently do not have any real world examples of what local dealers charge for these services. See our page on window costs per square foot for additional pricing information.

Standard Indow Windows Price

The standard Indow inserts use a compression tubing that is custom ordered to fit each opening. The glazing or glass portion of the insert is actually an acrylic panel. The tubing is pressed into the window opening and typically achieves a very snug fit. Once in the opening, the insert is visually difficult to notice, or rather the insert looks like a standard window. The tubing comes in either a brown, white or black.

Indow Acoustic Prices

The Indow Acoustic Series differs from the standard model in that its intent is to block more of the exterior sound from entering the home. These are often referred to as sound proof windows, although in this case they are inserts that go on the interior of your existing window. While the standard Indow insert blocks some 50% more noise than with just a single pane window, the acoustic series is said to block some 70% of all external noises. Therefore, Indow windows STC should be close to 35 to 37 in the Acoustic option.

Indow Windows Warranty

The Indow Windows warranty lasts five years from the date of the purchase and covers any defects in the materials or any workmanship issues. The company will repair or replace any defective windows that meet their guidelines. In addition, the compression tubing is warranted against damage from heat or cold or sun exposure for 5 years. The acrylic glazing is warranted not to change the light transmission more than 3% (this seems like it would be pretty tough for a homeowner to judge so we aren't quite sure how this one plays out.) As with all warranties, consumers should read the fine print to understand what is covered and, more importantly, what is not covered in order to have a better understanding should a problem arise down the line.
